ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Arif Alvi on Tuesday stated that his party will register an FIR (First Information Report) against prime minister’s son for attacking PTI lawmaker in Senate.
After the victory of the PPP-backed nominee in the Senate elections on Monday, the house echoed with pro-Zardari slogans which led to a scuffle between Prime Minister Shahid Abbasi’s son Abdullah Abbasi and PTI lawmaker Hamidul Haq on the issue of the sloganeering.
Arif Alvi further remarked that everytime Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) wins they term it as ‘democratic’, but if they lose they allege it’s a ‘conspiracy’. He also negated the allegations of PTI forming an alliance with Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) during the Senate elections.
“PTI supported the panel [in Senate elections]. We did not form an alliance with PPP.”
The nation cannot be duped anymore, he shared, adding that the civilian government wants to declare his party as a terrorist organisation.
Meanwhile, PTI lawmaker Shireen Mazari condemned violence against Hamidul Haq and called for an investigation.
She congratulated Sadiq Sarjani for being elected as the Senate chairman and said that it was a good omen for Pakistan that the Senate chairman was from Balochistan.
