MARDAN: An eight-year-old girl with hearing impairment was raped in Bakshally area of Mardan, family and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) police said on Tuesday.
Police stated that a case has been registered and nominated suspect is under arrest.
The father of the girl told media at a local hospital that he had brought his daughter for treatment after he found her bleeding. After the subsequent checkup and tests, it was confirmed that she was raped.
The victim, he stated, had pointed to one of the neighbours.
The father, a farmer, has demanded the government to provide him justice. He claimed that police were reluctant to file a case and only took action after media approached them for their version of the case.
7-YEAR-OLD BOY RAPED
Meanwhile, the post-mortem examination report of a seven-year-old boy has confirmed that he was raped before being killed. The police officials at Shaikh Maltoon Police Station stated that they have registered a case and the investigation is underway as some suspects have been taken into custody.
The boy was last seen playing in front of his house in Tambulk area on Saturday before he went missing. On Sunday morning, a suspect dumped a sack with boy’s body in fields behind boy’s home and fled.
When the dead body of the boy was handed back to the family after post-mortem, the relatives blocked Mardan-Nowshehra Road in protest, demanding the suspect’s arrest.
