ISLAMABAD: Adviser to the Prime Minister (PM) on Aviation Sardar Mehtab Khan Abbasi during the inspection of new Islamabad International Airport (IIA) on Monday said that the new airport would be functional in April this year which will be equipped with state of the art modern and international standard facilities.
Abbasi directed the officials concerned to ensure the work standards and completion of airport project in time and sought a report on the working of the project.
Sardar Mehtab was briefed that the cost of the project is Rs85 billion, and nine million passengers would be facilitated annually through this biggest airport of Pakistan. Multi-building car parking, 15 boarding lounges, two runways, modern landing system and latest international standard radar system would be installed in this airport.
Sardar Mehtab Khan directed to facilitate all airlines for their operation through the new airport.
