LAHORE: Provincial Minister Khalil Tahir Sandhu on Sunday condemned the shameful incident where Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supreme leader Nawaz Sharif was hit with a shoe during a speech.
Sandhu said this incident was extremely shameful and against the ethics of a civilised society. He said that the opponents of Nawaz Sharif were afraid of the growing popularity of the PML-N supremo, adding that the negative statements made by Nawaz’s opponents led to such a deplorable situation.
The provincial minister said that another similar shameful incident took place on March 10 where ink was thrown on Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif while he was addressing a workers’ convention. He said that if such incidents continued then any leader could become a victim. The Minister said that we all should have to bring positive changes in our behaviour so that everyone’s honour could be protected.
