PESHAWAR: Work on the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) has caused several police stations in the city to lose internet access, affecting the online FIR system.
Hashtnagri, Chamkani, Gulbahar Town and Hayatabad police stations have been affected. More than 40 online FIR’s are registered in said police stations every day. The police say that digging and drilling work on the BRT caused underground lines to be disconnected. Online FIR cards will not be available to residents until the problem is resolved.

Local shopkeepers have also been affected due to construction and complain they have not received the promised compensation. The BRT was launched in October last year.

Scheduled to be completed within six months, both the cost and time required to complete it have been extended due to major changes in the project.
