FAISALABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan will visit Faisalabad on March 11 to promote the party’s newly-launched membership campaign.
Khan would kick-start the registration campaign coupled with visits to various registration camps.
An important meeting of the workers was held to devise a plan to receive Khan on his arrival in Faisalabad.
The meeting was presided over by Mian Tunwir and among others were former provincial Minister Raja Riaz Ahmad, PTI leaders and social elites Attiqur Rehman Bhatti, Mian Zakar, Rana Naseer, Rana Riaz, Mirza Saeed, Iftikhar Ahmad Chaudhry, Ahsan Sandhu, Rashad Nizami, Kashif and Imran Gul as well as a large number of party workers.
Addressing the meeting, Raja Riaz Ahmad said that a historic welcome would be accorded to Imran Khan in Faisalabad.
He exhorted on the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) to ‘stop playing with the security of the country’ and said that the PML-N should remain within the parameters of the constitution.
He also said that it was the responsibility of the National Accountancy Bureau (NAB) and other institutions to take action against those involved in corruption and no corrupt would be allowed to hinder the process of law for accountability.
The PTI leader said that to make the parliament and democracy strong, it was essential to get rid of the corrupt.
