KARACHI: DA College for Women (DCW) on Friday held the oath-taking ceremony of the newly elected student council for the year 2018-19 in the Auditorium of the college. It was followed by the Annual Prize Distribution ceremony for the outstanding sportswomen of the college in which talented students of the college in different sports events were awarded medals and prizes.
Sarim Burney Welfare Trust International Vice Chairman Aliya Burney was invited as the chief guest on the occasion.
DCW Principal Dr Farhat Agha said that the college provides intellectually vibrant and dynamic programmes to students for overall development of their personality. She highlighted the importance of an elected students’ council which she said should be considered the voice of students.
She advised that it is imperative for the elected representatives to fulfill the expectations of those who have elected them. She reiterated that DCW has a tradition of having free, fair and transparent elections which is democracy at a basic level.
