RAWALPINDI: The management of commercial banks have been asked to deploy well-trained security guards and install special alarm systems at their ATM booths in order to avoid any possible theft situation, according to a local English daily.

The director Intelligence Bureau, the city police officer (CPO) and administrations of banks recently met in order to discuss the incidents of theft of cash from ATMs and about the steps that can be taken to tackle the situation.

According to the publication, CPO Israr Ahmed Abbasi termed the security arrangements put in place by the bank managements unsatisfactory.

He said guards deployed by the banks were untrained and most of them were over-aged.
