SAHIWAL: At least one person was killed and six others received injuries when a bus carrying college students overturned in Sahiwal, media reports said on Thursday.
According to details, students of a private college were travelling from village 118 near 9-L at Arifwala Road via campus bus. The preliminary investigation suggested that the tires of the bus had burst and caused the accident.
One student died on the spot and six others received injuries.
Upon being informed, police and Rescue 1122 officials reached the site of the accident.
The body of the deceased was moved to the DHG Hospital in Sahiwal. Those injured are under treatment in the same hospital.
On March 5, at least 13 people were killed in two separate road accidents in Chakwal and Gujar Khan. Punjab Chief Minister Punjab Shehbaz Sharif expressed a deep sense of sorrow over the loss of precious human lives in the Gujar Khan and Chakwal road accidents and extended heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved families.
