ISLAMABAD: The Senate Standing Committee on Interior unanimously passed two resolutions wherein women of Pakistan were applauded for their commendable services for the country, and in the second resolution, the committee thanked and appreciated the Ministry of Interior and Law and other departments for their coordination with the committee throughout its tenure.
Senator Rehman Malik chaired the meeting of the committee held here at the Parliament House and attended by Senator Shahi Syed, Senator Chaudhary Tanvir Khan and Senator Dr Jehanzeb Jamaldini and Minister of State for Interior Tallal Chaudhary.
Interior secretary, foreign affairs secretary, NADRA chairman, Sindh Additional IG Dr Sanaullah Abbasi, DI Khan RPO on the behalf of KP IGP, FIA director and other officials were also present on the occasion.
Committee chairman Senator Rehman Malik moved the resolution saying that to mark the women’s day, the committee had decided to applaud the role of women in nation-building, which was unanimously passed by the committee.
The resolution read: “Senate Standing Committee on Interior highly applauds the women’s role in nation-building. This committee recommends to the Pakistan government of enhancing the women’s role in national security by appointing woman member in NECTA and all other institutions related to national security.”
The committee chairman said that Pakistan can be proud that it had elected the first women prime minister in the Muslim world, adding that Benazir Bhutto was a role model for the women across the world. He went on to say that Benazir Bhutto proved that a woman can be an ideal mother and prime minister of the country.
