ISLAMABAD: International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) President Dr Ahmed Yousuf Al Draiweesh on Thursday said that revision in the curriculum is need of the hour and technology must be utilized while making changes in curriculum at all levels of education.
He was addressing the inaugural session of a two-day national seminar titled “Curriculum: Theory and Practice in Pakistan” organized by Faculty of Social Sciences, IIUI in collaboration with Higher Education Commission (HEC) Islamabad at the Allama Iqbal Auditorium, Faisal Masjid Campus.
The two days seminar is based on deliberation on national needs and curriculum of educational institutions. It will provide an open forum for discussion to identify national needs and discrepancies in educational policy and curriculum that would lead practical suggestions and experts views about how to bridge the gap between national needs and curriculum to meet future demands.
The organizers of the event maintained that event will also provide a platform for policymakers, curriculum developers, teachers and students to share their knowledge and experiences regarding curriculum reforms, while exploration of various ways to bridge the gaps is also the main theme of this seminar.
