PSCA celebrates International Women’s Day

LAHORE: In the wake of the International Women’s Day, the Punjab Safe City Authority (PSCA) on Thursday organised an event to acknowledge the spirit and services of the women workforce, their contributions in forming a better society to live-in and to reflect on what further efforts were essential to establish the realm of gender equality and how the PSCA could facilitate a smooth transition in this regard.

The Qurban Lines on the occasion was cheered up with pink-clad youth of the PPIC3 female workforce in addition to the pink references displayed in dress-code by their male counterparts to mark the day that later entailed a service acknowledgment ceremony graced by the chief guest Justice (r) Nasira Javed Iqbal, mothers of promising performers in addition to Defence ASP Bushra Jameel and Mrs Capt Ahmed Mubeen Shaheed.

“This day promotes the rights and irrefutable significance of women,” said the chief guest while addressing the audience.

“It is heartwarming to find women working side-by-side with men in such a critically important security project,” she added. She also said that no society could attain optimum productivity until it learnt to employ the potentials of its both halves equally.

The guests were also briefed about different sections of the PSCA. They were told that the women participation in the authority’s operations was a strong beacon of change in the police culture.

Later, the chief guest distributed certificates of appreciation among the best performing female employees for their achievements in their respective capacities. The mothers of the performing officers felt overwhelmed with the emotions and extended best wishes and prayers for the success of the whole setup.
