QUETTA: One person was shot dead and another critically injured by unknown persons.
According to the details, two persons of Hazara Town were sitting in Jhelum Karaz, near Kuli Chakar Lehri in Maidani, when unknown persons started firing at them, killing one person on the spot and critically injuring the other. The assailants managed to escape from the scene.
Police shifted the dead body and the injured to the hospital. The dead body was placed in the morgue for identification.
Later, the Hazara community protested against the incident and blocked Western Bypass by burning tires.
They said that for the past one week, people from the Hazara community were being killed in target killings and the law had failed to protect their rights. They further said that although the interior minister often speaks of law and order, the government had no hold in the area.
They demanded the government to arrest those involved in the target killings of members of Hazara community and threatened to stage a massive protest if their demand was not fulfilled.
