Imran pledges to give women equal role in society

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has said that his party is committed to fighting for women’s right.

On the eve of International Women Day on Thursday, he said that his party pledges to make women an equal and integral part of our development journey, adding that the dream of progress in Pakistan’s politics and the economy will not be fulfilled unless women are given equal role.

In a special message, Khan saluted the accomplishments of all women. He stated that women’s involvement is indispensable in the process of building a more equitable and free society, and a more powerful and prosperous country.

“No nation can make progress if women don’t participate in nation-building”, said PTI chairman. Saluting the accomplishments of all women for their indispensable role in the society, Imran stated, adding that from Pakistan movement till now women have made outstanding contributions in every movement.

“A specific group clung to politics tried to narrow the role of women in nation-building but Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf once again mobilized women and stirred consciousness about women’s role in country’s development and future” marked PTI chairman. I feel proud, he said, to see our women politically awakened and mobilised.

“On this day, let us redouble our efforts for achieving gender equity and empowerment of women”, PTI chairman marked. He went to add that PTI is committed to introducing special programs and schemes to boost women’s role and participation in strengthening country’s economy.  “To end all forms of discrimination, violence and injustice against women is an integral part of our agenda and I believe that with strong commitment and conviction, we can make our country a much safer place for women”, Chairman PTI resolved.
