Bannu school blast attempt foiled: police

BANNU: The police foiled an attempt by the terrorist to blast a school building on Thursday by recovering and defusing the planted bomb.

Police sources said that a tip-off was received regarding the presence of a suspected material with the gate of government primary school in Bannu. Policemen reached the scene along with the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) to take control of the situation.

During the search operation, a bomb attached with petrol bottle was found at the scene. The bomb was defused by the BDS officials.

Police said that the terrorists wanted to blast the school building, but the timely action foiled the bid.

Meanwhile, the police cordoned off the area after recovery of the bomb and launched a search operation in the area.
