ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Interior Ahsan Iqbal on Thursday urged the media to portray the positive image of Pakistan to the world.

Speaking at a meeting with senior journalists and editors, the federal minister said the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)  led government had put the country on the path to development and prosperity since 2013, ended energy crisis, uprooted terrorism, and made massive progress in the education and economic sectors.

Work on the Lawari Tunnel, Kachi Kanal, N-85 Gawadar, Lyari Expressway, Neelam Jehlum Hydal Power Project, Golangol Project and the Munda Dam were also started, he said.

“Our motorways as compared to India are massive. The distance of motorway in India is 1400 km while on the other hand, Pakistan has motorways as long as 2200 km,” said the minister.

Answering a question Ahsan said the opponents of Pakistan quoted the news of Pakistani media on international forums.

He stated that some peoples were trying to malign and damage the 91% positive rating of China for the past 70 years and added that it was an external negative agenda, which aimed to destroy and destabilise the ongoing China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

He also said Pakistan fought brilliantly against terrorism, and achieved success.
