RDA demolishes four illegal under construction shops

RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) on Wednesday demolished four illegal under construction shops and property office of Punjab Govt Servant Society.

Acting on directives of RDA Director General (DG) Nadeem Aslam Chaudhry, the RDA Land Use and Building Control (LU&BC) wing’s staff including building control superintendent, building inspectors and others with the assistance of Rawalpindi police from the concerned police station, carried out operation in Mouza Kalyal, Adyala Road, Rawalpindi and demolished four illegal under construction buildings.

The owner of these properties, Khadim Kiyani, was constructing illegal commercial buildings without approval, in violation of Punjab Development of Cities Act, 1976 and RDA Building and Zoning Regulations, 2007.

The RDA’s building control wing has been actively conducting operations against illegal and unauthorised commercial cum residential construction activities including plazas, shops, schools and other illegal land use encroachments within the controlled area of RDA in Rawalpindi city.

RDA Spokesman Hafiz Muhammad Irfan said the RDA DG had directed the building control wing to take strict action against illegal and unauthorized constructions and commercial activities without any fear and favour.
