LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) President and former prime minister Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain on Tuesday alleged the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) was planning the “worst pre-poll rigging with the collusion of bureaucracy.”

“They have started it by getting done the delimitations of their choice,” he added.

In a statement issued here, he said that 30 per cent impact of the delimitations of constituencies took place prior to the elections, and if the delimitations were to be done by “their own servants then they would win the elections while sitting at home.”

Ch Shujaat further said that the PML-Q had stated in the beginning that electoral reforms were inevitable prior to the elections, as only the “riggers would win under the old system.”

He also said that according to the constitution, new delimitations could be done only after the official result of a population census, “whereas the government was doing the delimitation on unofficial results”.

“Constituencies should be on the basis of population and not on that of votes,” he concluded.
