FC soldier dies in Kalat explosion: report

KHUZDAR: A Frontier Corps (FC) personnel was killed, with six others injured in an improvised explosive device (IED) explosion in the Johan area of the Kalat district on Monday.

FC soldier Luqman died and six others were injured in the blast. The injured were moved to a hospital in Quetta.

The injured were identified as Ashraf, Sobedar Nouman, Mohammad Aslam, Shafi, Khairullah and Akhtar Jamil.

The IED was planted on a roadside near the Johan area of Kalat district, according to a local English daily.  

According to the Levies officials, this IED was planted by unidentified people to target the FC vehicles carrying ration for security personnel that were deployed in the area.

The Levies officials also told the publication that the IED was planted to target FC Balochistan vehicles that pass through the area.
