ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Monday initiated probe against former Lahore Development Authority (LDA) director general Ahad Cheema for corruption in a laptop scheme during his tenure as higher education secretary.
According to NAB sources, Ahad Cheema was accused of purchasing laptops for Rs 38,000 each while the retail price for that model in the market at the time was Rs 20,000.
“The total price of Rs 65 billion of the laptops was paid through the Secretariat branch of The Bank of Punjab,” sources said.
