ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Information, Broadcasting, National History and Literary Heritage Marriyum Aurangzeb on Monday said that known horse traders were levelling baseless allegations of horse-trading against Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N).
While talking to media, asked how Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) had secured 44 votes in Senate elections when PTI had only 30 seats in the Punjab Assembly.
“Those who were trying to give lessons of morality and crying hoarse to end corruption from Pakistan used money to win elections,” she said.
She also asked Imran to investigate the winning of Senate seats by Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and securing of 44 votes by Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar in Punjab.
Marriyum asked if Imran had taken any action so far against Sarwar for his indulgence in horse trading. At least Imran who relished tweeting about everything under the skies must tweet or issue a statement on the issue, she added.
“What transpired in KP and Balochistan during the Senate elections is known to everyone,” she said.
The minister said that the time had come to purge the political system of the bad practices of horse-trading and switching loyalties.
She said that PML-N backed candidates were deprived of their party’s symbol but the love for former premier Nawaz Sharif could not be removed from the hearts of the people of Pakistan.
