Gohar Rasheed, Saba Qamar gearing up for a new project

LAHORE: Pakistani actors Gohar Rasheed and Saba Qamar are all set to reunite after two years for an upcoming project.

Both the actors shared pictures of themselves along with Meher Jaffri on their Instagram stories with the hashtag #upcomingproject.

According to a source, the new project is titled Badshah Begum and as the name suggests, it is something completely different from the mainstream. It is currently in its pre-production phase.

Saba and Gohar earlier shared screen space in the popular drama serial Digest Writer which earned seven nominations at the 3rd HUM Awards.

Meanwhile, Saba is currently riding high on the success of her recently concluded drama serial, Baaghi for which she received the Lux Style Award for Best Actress (TV). Baaghi, based loosely on the life of slain social media star Qandeel Baloch, also won several other accolades at the esteemed award ceremony.

On the other hand, Gohar’s last release was Rangreza. Though the film did not do well at the box-office, Rasheed received a lot of applause for his performance and was also nominated at the Lux Style Awards in the Best Supporting Actor category. However, he lost that to Javed Sheikh, who won for his role in Na Maloom Afraad 2.

In an exclusive conversation with Pakistan Today, Gohar revealed that his new project is a comedy and we wonder if this is the one he was talking about. But for now, all we can do is wait and watch for more details to unfold. The actor also recently joined the cast of Maula Jutt which also features Mahira Khan, Fawad Khan and Hamza Ali Abbasi.
