CM Khattak directs inclusion of Khyber Road in BRT

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister (CM) Pervez Khattak has directed to include Khyber Road – from Suray Pull to Aman Chowk – also as a part of the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project.

He directed this during a surprise visit to different spots of the BRT Monday.

He inspected various parts of the project and directed to include the route from Suray Pull to Aman Chowk in the BRT design. The cantonment administration had already agreed to the directive and the NoC had also been issued in this regard.

During his visit, the chief minister was briefed about different construction work and the process of completion. He also talked to the citizens during his visit and asked them about their problems because of the BRT.

CM Khattak appealed to the citizens to bear the hardships of the construction work of BRT, adding that after the completion of the project, the citizens would have an efficient commuting facility in the whole Peshawar city. He also reviewed the pace of the project at Shoba Chowk, Khyber Bazar, Firdous Chowk, Hashtnagri Chowk, Gulbahar Chowk, Chamkani, Aman Chowk, Tambwano Mor, Abadara Road, Shaheen Town and main BRT route.

The chief minister directed for the accelerated completion of bus stations of BRT, adding that after the completion of design, the construction company had enhanced responsibility to work round the clock to ensure timely and quality completion of work. He also directed to focus on bus station at Aman Chowk and underpass.

Pervez Khattak went on to say that BRT would provide a durable solution to all traffic problems, adding that his government was working on multiple fronts that included the institutional buildings and the provision of efficient services to the people in all social sectors. He added that his government had made a considerable headway in all sectors.

Newly elected Senator Fida Muhammad Khan, MPA Arbab Waseem and PDA DG also accompanied the chief minister.
