Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) leader Dr Farooq Sattar on Sunday the “horse-trading” by the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) to win the Senate seats will have negative consequences for the latter as this will come back to haunt the PPP.

Sattar’s press conference in Karachi came after a day of the polls in which the PPP deprived the MQM-P of at least three seats by allegedly indulging in horse-trading.

He demanded the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to take notice of what he claimed to be the horse-trading in the election of upper house of parliament.

Farogh Naseem, the leader of the disgruntled Bahadurabad faction, was the only party leader to make it into the Senate on the General seat.

While felicitating Naseem, Sattar said: “I congratulate Barrister Farogh Naseem for winning a Senate seat,” adding that earlier MQM-P had won four seats with 51 MPAs, but this time it could only win one seat.

The reason behind the big failure of the MQM-P to win Senate seats was due to PPP’s horse-trading.
