14 members of MQM ‘bought’ in Senate elections: Kamal

KARACHI: Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) Chairman Mustafa Kamal on Sunday said that during Senate elections, the 14 members of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) were ‘bought’ by other parties.

While addressing the media in Karachi, Kamal said that MQM is like a “brain tumor” which could not be treated until completely removed.

Kamal once again extended his offer to the leaders of MQM-P’s splinter groups, Khalid Maqbool and Farooq Sattar, to join his party, PSP.

“I will welcome them with open arms,” he said.

PSP chairman further said that Karachi will once again see bloodshed if the factions of MQM fail to unite. He further added that he does not want to take benefit from the current infight of MQM-P.

“I have not taken a stance on current politics of Karachi as I did not want people to assume that I was taking advantage of MQM-P’s current internal conflict,” Kamal elaborated.

While addressing media, last month, Kamal has said that Mohajirs have no now option but his party.
