PTI clinches five, PPP, PML-N secure two Senate seats each from KP

PESHAWAR: Out of total eleven, the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) clinched five while Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) won two seats each from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).

Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUIF) and Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) also succeeded to elect one Senator each.

According to unofficial results announced after counting here in the KP assembly, out of the seven general seats, PTI obtained three while PML-N, PPP, JUI-F and JI clinched one each.

The unofficially declared winning candidates on general seats included Pir Sabir Shah (Independent/PML-N) Faisal Javed (PTI), Talha Mahmood (JUI-F), Bahramand Khan Tangi (PPP), Mohammad Ayub (PTI), Fida Mohammad (PTI) and Mushtaq Ahmad Khan of JI.

The two women reserved seats were clinched by Dr Meher Taj Roghani of PTI and Robina Khalid of PPP respectively while the two technocrats’ seats were shared one each by PTI and PML-N candidates respectively.
