India not issuing visas to doctors due to attend conference: report

ISLAMABAD: India has not issued visas to a total of 30 Pakistani doctors who are scheduled to attend a conference related to liver diseases in India, reports a local English daily.

The conference that is being organised by the Asian Pacific Association for the Study of the Liver (APASL) will enable these doctors to understand the Indian medical system and guide Pakistani patients who need to travel India for liver transplantation.

The conference will be held from March 14 to 18 in New Delhi, according to APASL’s website.

The conference, according to the doctors, will have high quality content with up-to-date information by well-known researchers and clinicians, covering all aspects of hepatology– a branch of medicine that incorporates the study of liver).
