Farooq Sattar hopeful for early resolution of issues with Bahadurabad faction

KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) leader Farooq Sattar expressed hopes for an early resolution of issues between party factions based in Bahadurabad and PIB Colony.

He said that the monetary matters will not affect the provincial lawmakers of MQM-P, adding that there are only certain organisational issues left between the two factions which will be resolved soon.

“We will once again sit together and resolve basic organisational issues, and will form more established MQM-P ahead of 2018 polls,” he stated.

The senior MQM-P member maintained that it was more about the powers to control party issues than his ego, adding that leaders should respect the difference of opinion. “There should be a difference between an empowered and powerless head of the party,” he added.

To a query on whether MQM-P MPAs will support PPP candidate in the Senate elections, Sattar responded that the lawmakers are answerable to the party. He said, “Our party is for the middle class and I hope that money will not deter them from their path.”

He termed Senate polls a test case for the loyalty of the MNAs.

Sattar called the occurrence of Senate elections a ‘good news’ that ended all sorts of speculations. He said that political and democratic forces ensured Senate elections on time despite challenges.
