SC to hear Nehal Hashmi’s appeal against his conviction on March 6

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court (SC) will hear Nehal Hashmi’s appeal on March 6 against his conviction in the contempt of court case.

A three-member bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar will hear the appeal.

During the course of the hearings of Panama Papers case, CJP Nisar took suo moto notice of Nehal Hashmi’s threatening speeches. The case was heard by a three-member bench headed by Justice Asif Saeed Khosa who rejected his unconditional apology and sent him to jail for one month and disqualified him for 5 years on Feb 1.

On Wednesday, Nehal Hashmi was released from jail upon the completion of his sentence.
