Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi said on Friday that there are two groups inside the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) – one that wants a conflict between state institutions while the other wants to avoid confrontation.
Addressing a press conference, he said, “The success of one group over the other will be decided as time progresses.”
Qureshi made these remarks in response to the statements given by PML-N leaders that former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was being targeted after the Supreme Court (SC) disqualified him from holding the post of party president.
Last Tuesday, Nawaz had said in a meeting that the decision to disqualify him was not taken during the rule of dictators, adding that the ones giving the decisions were acting like dictators.
Answering a query regarding March 3 Senate elections, Qureshi said that PTI had consulted different parties to formulate a winning strategy. He also said that his party was expecting to win six Senate seats from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and one seat from Punjab.
