Model police stations, police reforms need of the hour: DPO

MARDAN: District Police Officer (DPO) Mian Saeed Ahmad said on Friday that the introducing reforms in the police and establishment of model police stations are the need of the hour.

Addressing an open court at Saddar police station, he said these police reforms would restore the dignity of the public while seeking solutions to their problems at the police station level.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Investigation Janis Khan, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) City Circle Khalid Khan and Station House Officer (SHO) Ashaq Hussain were also present on the occasion.

The DPO said that with the establishment of the model police stations and other reforms in the police department, the public would find an early resolution of their problems in a friendly environment.

He directed the police officials to maintain good behaviour with the general public in order to increase the trust between the masses and the police department. He also directed the police officers to show no mercy to criminal elements in order to provide relief to the citizens.

The DPO added that with the support of the masses, the police force had been successful in controlling narcotics, private interest business, aerial firing and other crimes in the district.
