At least 875 undocumented immigrants were detained across Turkey on Wednesday and Thursday, state-run Anadolu Agency reported.
A total of 673 people were detained as they attempted to enter Turkey through its borders with Greece, Syria and Iraq on Wednesday, the report cited a military source as saying.
Also on Wednesday, some 126 illegal immigrants were caught attempting to cross the border into Greece in the northwestern province of Erdine.
In the eastern province of Erzurum, 48 Afghan immigrants were detained on Thursday while travelling on the Eastern Express, a rail line between the capital Ankara and the northeastern province of Kars.
Moreover, 17 people were arrested in the southeastern province of Hakkari on charges of human trafficking.
Turkey has been a main transfer point for refugees trying to cross into Europe, especially since the beginning of the civil war in Syria.
