RAHIM YAR KHAN: Passengers on Thursday took a sigh of relief as the railway traffic in Rahim Yar Khan was restored after two days.
The trains resumed the scheduled services and a large number of passengers were once again seent at the Rahim Yar Khan Railway Station.
It is pertinent to mention that the railway traffic on the up track near Chak 78-P Taranda Sawaye Khan was suspended on Tuesday evening (February 27, 2018) after eight bogies of a Daudkhel bound freight train derailed.
The authorities managed to clear the track by removing the derailed bogies after 48 hours.
The passengers had been facing difficulties as the derailment of coaches had resulted in delays between eleven to thirty-six hours for Sindh and Punjab-bound passenger trains.
Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique had summoned an urgent meeting following the incident and announced free breakfast for all passengers suffering due to the delay.
He had also announced that half of the total paid fare would be recompensed to the passengers who were facing delays of twelve hours and above.
