KARACHI: Local police arrested two suspects on Thursday who allegedly threw garbage on road in Karachi’s old city area.
The police said that two persons namely Abdul Qadir and Irfan were arrested and a first information report (FIR) was registered against them under Section 188 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant) of the Pakistan Penal Code. The case was registered on behalf of the state.
The arrested men were presented before a local court which released them on bail, said the SHO.
HYDERABAD POLICE TO COLLECT DETAILS:
Hyderabad Senior Superintendent Police Peer Muhammad Shah directed all police officers on Thursday to collect details of the contractors who are responsible for disposing of the solid waste.
The police spokesman Mazharul Haq Shani said that the directives had been given to the Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) and Station House Officers (SHOs). The officers would have to collect information about the contractors and designated dumping sites for the solid waste in Hyderabad district from the municipal authorities, he added.
The spokesman told that the police officers had been directed to maintain video and photo records of the dumping of solid waste in the non-designated places. He added that the violators would be booked under sections 144 and 188 of CrPC and PPC as contained in the recent notification issued by Sindh Home Secretary Qazi Shahid Pervez.
