ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal on Thursday took to Twitter to criticise Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari’s statement which ridiculed Foreign Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif’s accent and asked him to assess the past performance of his “English speaking” cabinet members on the foreign front.
“Mr Zardari with your “English speaking” Foreign Ministers, we got twice blacklisted in FATF. Let’s have a national response instead of politicising everything. Recent greylisting is part of US’s new Afghan strategy to put pressure on Pakistan,” Ahsan Iqbal tweeted.

Asif Zardari had recently questioned Asif’s skills as a diplomat who speaks “English in Punjabi accent”. He also went on to say that his party had been pressing the government to appoint a full-time foreign minister but they only named Khawaja Asif to the slot after they had lost much on the diplomatic front.
“For more than four years we did not have any foreign minister. We need a strong FM to handle the (diplomatic) challenges,” he stated.
Zardari had said that Pakistan tackled the Financial Action Task Force grey list during the PPP tenure through diplomacy.
Lol PPP… PPP is not a political party
Zardari should notice Bilawal zardari speaking Urdu and not his accent, he just can’t speak the language. how can this boy be a political leader who can’t even speak Urdu correctly
