Aleem Khan appears before NAB Lahore in offshore company case

LAHORE: Senior leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Aleem Khan on Thursday appeared before the National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) Lahore officials regarding his offshore company.

NAB Lahore had summoned Aleem earlier this week and asked him to present details of his offshore company, Hexam Investment Overseas Limited.

The PTI central Punjab president had previously appeared before the anti-graft body in January when he was asked to give records of the company owned by him outside Pakistan.

Speaking to media, Aleem claimed his name was never mentioned in Panama Leaks, and that he would cooperate with NAB by presenting required documents, adding that he will part ways with politics if found guilty of misconduct.

Local media reported that NAB had also sought details of Aleem’s housing societies from Lahore Development Authority (LDA). Sources claimed NAB directed LDA to issue notices to its five officers on different posts to provide reports on the alleged illegal properties.

In January, reports indicated that government had imposed a fine of Rs10 million on a Lahore-based real estate company, owned by Aleem, for fraud and misleading advertisements.
