KARACHI: The fire brigade department has hinted that the mysterious fire at the Sindh Secretariat building could be a case of arson due to several reasons.
Station officer of the fire and rescue headquarters in Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) said in its fire report that “The crew surprisingly noted that the fire engulfed instantaneously in quick succession, at all six floors of the building in the same manner”.
“Crew found on each floor, right next to the duct, bundle of papers engulfed on each floor, even in iron file cabinets which certainly create doubts leading towards a case of arson,” reads the report.
It was also noted that final cause of the fire could not be ascertained yet.
On Monday, the report of the fire which had erupted in Sindh Secretariat was submitted to the chief secretary. People have speculated that the fire erupted just three hours after the mega corruption scandal was disclosed.
Although it burnt a large sum of government records, no loss of life was reported.
