Dasti wants Nawaz’s picture removed from health cards

ISLAMABAD: Member National Assembly Jamshed Dasti on Wednesday, while remarking on the foul practice of printing health cards with the former premier Nawaz Sharif’s pictures, urged the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to take notice of the issue.

According to a statement, Dasti has encouraged the ECP and NAB to take action against the unrestricted use of national treasury for promoting a ‘disqualified premier’.

The matter of Sharif’s picture on the health cards being distributed among the masses was earlier raised by PTI chairman Imran Khan, who asserted that taxpayer money was being recklessly after incumbent Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi distributed ‘Prime Minister’s National Health Programme’ health cards which bore Sharif’s picture.

“Shameful! In no democracy in the world would this be acceptable: a disqualified money launderer’s face on a government health card! Apart from using taxpayer money to advertise and promote criminals, the Sharif mafia destroying moral values of our youth. As if nothing is wrong with corruption/money laundering,” Imran had tweeted on January 20, 2018.
