ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court (SC) on Monday acknowledged that not much progress had been made as far as the missing persons’ cases are concerned, reported a local English daily.
This was said by a three-judge bench comprising Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan, Justice Maqbool Baqar and Justice Faisal Arab while hearing the missing persons’ case.
The bench also requested the registrar of the Commission of Inquiry on Enforced Disappearances, Khalid Naseem, to submit a report about any progress that has been made in the case.
Justice Ejaz also said that in case any missing persons’ families were stopped from approaching the COIOED, they would pass an order. He said that when the state fails in performing its responsibilities and if someone comes forward for a cause, then they should not be stopped.
