SUKKUR: An 11-year-old boy on Tuesday was allegedly raped and sexually assaulted at Navan Goth area of Sukkur and admitted to hospital in critical condition.
According to an uncle of the victim, the minor was sent to fetch bread from the nearby local market on Sunday night when the prime suspect stopped and lured his nephew into going with him.
Subsequently, the suspect raped the minor and left him in a critical situation, the uncle alleged.
The boy somehow managed to the reach home, he stated, adding that family then contacted Pind Police Station and admitted the minor to Civil Hospital Sukkur.
The victim’s family also alleged that influential family of the suspect is forcing victim’s family to not pursue the case.
Meanwhile, Station House Officer (SHO) Naveed Ahmed Sheikh confirmed the incident but stated that no arrest has been made yet.
“A report has been filed whereas First Information Report (FIR) will be lodged after submission of minor’s medical report,” the police officer added.
He said that police is conducting raids to arrest the prime suspect and hoped that the suspect will be under arrest soon.
