bureaucrats LAHORE: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) devised a strategy to counter the strike of officers from District Management Groups (DMG) in favour of former Lahore Development Authority chairman Ahad Khan Cheema.

PTI Chairman Imran Khan on Sunday chaired a meeting in which PTI Central Punjab President Aleem Khan, MPA Shoaib Siddique and others from Lahore participated.  Imran Khan directed the party MPs to hold a strike inside and outside the Punjab Assembly.

Meanwhile, Opposition leader in the Punjab Assembly and PTI leader Mehmoodur Rashid called a meeting of the party’s parliamentarians on Monday. The meeting was called to discuss the situation in the wake of DMG officers’ protest and lockdown of offices. Mehmood said the Sharif brothers were inciting the bureaucracy against the state and the script for that was being written in the Chief Minister House.

The DMG officers on Friday locked down their offices in protest against Ahad Cheema’s arrest. The National Accountability Bureau had arrested Cheema to interrogate him regarding his alleged involvement in the Ashiana Housing Society scam.

PTI to write a letter against bureaucrats:

PTI announced that it would write a letter against the government officers who were on strike in Punjab.

The announcement was made by the PTI Information Secretary Fawad Chaudhry.

Fawad Chaudhry said that PTI would write a letter to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) regarding the bureaucrats on strike. The party would demand that civil officers not be appointed in the interim setup, he added.

He said that the officers had failed to fulfil their responsibilities.
