Laar museum, Mallah library employees demand salaries

BADIN: The unpaid employees of Laar Museum and Haji Ahmed Mallah Public Library on Sunday took out the rally and staged the demonstration outside Badin Press Club to demand from the Sindh government to release the salaries and regularize their jobs.

They deplored that despite discharging their duties properly and honestly nine employees including two ladies had not paid their salaries.

Ram Chand Kolhi, Zubeda Khaskheli, Amnat Qambrani, Ali Mallah, Anwar Ali Shaikh and others while talking to the local media persons deplored that they were not paid 17 months salaries when they threatened the boycott the Laar Literature Festival in Badin some month ago.

The right activists and members of civil society have strongly reacted over the insensitiveness towards the plight of the workers. They said that Sindh Culture and Tourism Minister Sardar Ali Shah, on one hand, was spending millions of rupees on the claim to promote the culture while on the hand was turning the blind eye towards the custodians of one of the important institutes of lower Sindh.
