LONDON: British fast fashion brand Missguided has introduced a new range of mannequins to its London stores with natural body features.
Their real-girl mannequins have natural body features, including stretch marks, vitiligo and freckles, and represent a diverse range of ethnic backgrounds with different colours.
They’re part of Missguided’s ongoing mission to buck unrealistic industry standards. In December, the brand announced that it would stop airbrushing out models’ stretch marks on its website.
Missguided’s latest move has been widely praised on social media.
“This is AH-MAY-ZING! Missguided are killing it,” tweeted a UK-based teen glossy.
“Said it once and I’ll say it a million times but I absolutely [love] Missguided for showing life isn’t like an Instagram post,” a user wrote.
On the downside, Popsugar noted that Missguided’s mannequins are still pretty svelte. Nonetheless, a step in the right direction.
