KARACHI: A report submitted by Sindh Police to an anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Saturday revealed that the cases registered against Naqeebullah and his friends were fake.
The report, submitted before an ATC judge, also recommended that the FIR registered against the slain Waziristan youth be dismissed under B-class. The court then forwarded to the police report to the concerned ATC-II court.
The report stated that Naqeebullah was killed in a fake encounter and there was no evidence of any weapons being recovered from his person. It further added that as the encounter was established to be staged, the claim of weapon recovery was also concocted.
FIR FILED AGAINST SHOAIB SHAIKH’S ESCAPE
An FIR (first information report) was filed late Friday in the Gulshan-e-Maymar police station over aiding the escape of Naqeebullah case suspect Station House Officer (SHO) Shoaib Shaikh to Lahore.
According to Adeel Chandio, the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) for Malir, two suspects, Aurangzeb Khan and Assistant Sub-inspector of Police (ASI) Ehsanullah Marwat, have been named in FIR No. 32/18, under clause 216, for aiding in the escape of Shaikh.
Aurangzeb Khan was arrested from Janjhal Goth while Ehsanullah, the brother of SHO for Shah Latif Town Amanullah Marwat, managed to flee.
Aurangzeb and Ehsanullah provided refuge to Shoaib Shaikh and took him, thereafter, to Hyderabad, from where he got into a train to Lahore, the SSP said.
