PML-N serving masses selflessly for nine-and-a-half years: Shehbaz

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday said the Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) government had been serving the public selflessly for the last nine-and-a-half years. “We took all-out measures for the development of the country and prosperity of the people, while the dharna group wasted the nation’s time,” he said.

The chief minister expressed these views while in a meeting with Federal Minister for Human Rights Mumtaz Ahmed Tarar, MNA Moeen Watto and MPA Khalid Mehmood Cheema.

Shehbaz said the people knew that those playing negative politics had done nothing for the welfare of the people in their province and the well-aware people always gave respect and honour to those who served them. “The so-called torchbearers of change have been exposed and the people will reject their negative politics in the 2018 elections,” said the chief minister.

He said the development in Punjab was a known fact, and progress had become the PML-N-led government’s identity.

“All projects have been completed with transparency and quality work has been ensured in all mega development projects,” he said while adding that the Punjab government made unprecedented savings of billions of rupees in all mega projects.

He also said the PML-N was working on the vision to ensure equal development in all cities and an organised waste management programme was already being implemented in all rural areas of Punjab.

CM Shehbaz said the promise of providing international standard medicines in government hospitals had also been fulfilled, and the installation of CT scan machines was being ensured at all DHQs.

“Service delivery has been improved due to the reforms in education, health and agriculture sectors and the credit for ridding the nation of load-shedding goes to the PML-N government,” said the chief minister.

He said the PML-N government had dedicated all its effort for the welfare of the people and added, “We have to work with honesty and determination to make Pakistan the country that was dreamt of by Quaid-e-Azam and Allama Iqbal.”

CM Shehbaz said the PML-N government attached top importance to the public service due to which its every term reflected unprecedented progress and development.

“On the other hand, the performance of the dharna party in public service is zero and it has done nothing other than raising slogans, claims and carrying out dharnas,” he concluded.
