SUKKUR: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Khurshid Shah on Friday urged the former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to accept the verdicts of courts.

Speaking to the media, Shah said that Nawaz has to respect the institutions and verdicts of the courts, as he has always stressed on doing in the past.

The opposition leader suggested that foreign investment is not coming in Pakistan due to instability in the country. “The economic condition in Pakistan will not improve unless and until stability does not prevail in the country,” said Shah.

He further said that for once Pakistan was ahead of Saudi Arabia and South Korea but the country had sunk deeply into debts. “We have to think, why we have been left behind,” he said.

The PPP leader told the media that every year Rs 1400 billion spent to pay off debts and that institutions were present but they didn’t have motivation like they did in the past.

Commenting on the recent arrests and grilling of top civil servants like Fawad Hassan Fawad and Ahad Cheema, Shah said that they did not have sympathy for the civil servants who didn’t act upon court orders.
