ISLAMABAD: A high-level delegation of the United States Congress called on the leaders of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Thursday to discuss issues of mutual interests, including the Pak-US relations and the Afghan policy.

The US delegation consisted of members of foreign and defence committees of the US Congress, whereas the PTI side comprised of Asad Umar, Shehzad Waseem and Fawad Chaudhry.

Besides other issues of bilateral interests, regional security and China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project were also discussed in detail.

Regarding the US proposal to put Pakistan on the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), the PTI leaders told the members of the US committees that sacrifices rendered by Pakistan in the war against terrorism were not accorded and admitted with an open heart by the US.

They said that the US administration needs to review its policies and attitude toward Pakistan, adding that the US, instead of suppressing Pakistan, should look into its positive role for stability in the region.

They were of the view that Pakistan desires peace and stability in Afghanistan and all steps in this connection were being taken.

  1. Now Americans met PTI because Russia has opened its consulate in Peshawar or maybe they want to bribe PTI in advance in case they form a government in federal.
