MoIT introduces e-office to accelerate pace of work

ISLAMABAD: Ministry of Information Technology (MoIT), through National Information Technology Board (NITB), has successfully developed e-office application suite for accelerating the pace of work and better maintenance of record in other ministries and departments.

The ministry has earned a remarkable distinction by making the “E-Suite including e-Filing System” functional, making it the first government ministry amongst SAARC countries where it is fully implemented.

A spokesperson of the ministry said while talking to APP that MoIT has started using modules of the e-office suite, and Ministry of Commerce, Establishment Division and Ministry of Foreign Affairs have started inter-departmental communication/file movement through e-office.

He further said that intra-government fiber connectivity has established over 72kms secure, dedicated and 24/7 e-communication amongst federal ministries/divisions.

The project is rolling out in more than 25 ministries and division. About 12 of them have cut-over to e-office suite and more than 7,000 federal government employees have been trained on the e-office application, he added.

The spokesperson further informed that online recruitment system has been deployed to enable online management of applications for the positions advertised by public sector recruitment body, and health management information system has been put in place in public hospitals.
