ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan on Thursday congratulated senior party leader and lawyer Babar Awan for the “historic win” in the Elections Act case.
In a statement issued by the PTI media cell on Thursday, Imran Khan in a telephonic conversation with Awan felicitated him over the remarkable win in the case. He admired Awan’s relentless prosecution during the case.
Terming it a milestone in country’s democratic history, he stated that this decision will strengthen democracy.
Moreover, Babar Awan briefed the party chairman on the constitutional, legal and political impacts of the apex court’s verdict. He said that all the decisions of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif from July 28 onwards have become outlawed which include the meetings he presided and the distribution of Senate tickets.
