ISLAMABAD: Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Thursday submitted a forensic report in Islamabad High Court (IHC) in connection with Chaudhry Sugar Mills record tampering case.
A single bench of IHC led by Justice Mohsin Akhter Kyani took up the case for hearing on Thursday.
Zafar Hijazi and FIA Director General (DG) Bashir Memon appeared in the court for the hearing.
Deputy attorney general (DAG) said that record tampering had been done as per FIA’s report and Maheen Fatima was behind the tampering.
A witness named Abid told the court that the file had been given to Maheen Fatima by Security and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SCCP) chairman.
The court inquired from the investigation officer that why the involved witnesses were not accused in the case.
Responding to the court’s question, the investigation officer said that the witnesses had stated that they were under pressure and SCCP chairman sent all the messages to them through the commissioner.
The court remarked that the whole story revolved around Maheen Fatima. FIA made her a witness. Supreme Court had ordered that departmental inquiry against Maheen Fatima be initiated.
The investigation officer said that a challan had been filed in the trial court and he would accept the decision of the court.
The court adjourned the hearing of the case till March 7.
